The City of New Orleans is seeking candidates for a professional, supervisory, administrative, and technical work directing all activities relating to a large Sewerage and Water Board Bureau. The position may also function as the second in command to a Utility Services Administrator. The role includes planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of lower-level managers and may include a staff of professional, technical, and clerical employees. The job also involves establishing and monitoring management controls for the assigned operational area and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to Board operations where applicable; and related work as required.

Experience with construction contracting preferred. Note : Professional experience is experience gained in a position that required a Bachelor's degree upon entrance. This position requires a one-year probationary period. Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification. If selected for hire, applicants must provide original documents of their qualifying credentials to the hiring agency prior to their start date in this job classification.
Note : Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. However, all new full-time employees hired into this classification on or after January 1, 2013, must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. Airport and public safety employees are excluded from this provision. Additional exceptions to the domicile requirement may be made on a case-by-case basis.
