Job descriptionProvide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, and engineering codes; maintain or develop engineering standards and guides; offer technical guidance across projects or disciplines. Ensure compliance with B&V quality program; promote quality culture; support continuous improvement, change management, and risk management. Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multi-project portfolios; conduct research and recommend equipment / materials; manage data collection and management for engineering work. Prepare complex engineering calculations; manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements; apply advanced engineering solutions; assign tasks to team members and review work; lead production teams or coordinate multi-discipline activity as appropriate. Coordinate with internal and external teams on complex projects; define project schedules for single or multiple disciplines. Identify client interests and drivers; communicate them to the project team and adapt performance to address client concerns. Identify future client needs and support business development or pursuit activities. Act as a technical specialist in broad or narrow areas; develop advanced concepts for unique problems; support multiple projects with complex technical challenges; may mentor other engineers and assist management as needed. Oversee performance management, career planning, development, and related activities; participate in workforce planning and coaching of lower- and mid-level professionals. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Prior experience as a Marine Structural Engineer Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or in active pursuit of PE registration Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program Minimum of 11 years related work experience Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on managerial discretion and work assignments. Typical office and construction environments with potential exposure to extreme weather, high noise, and safety hazards; includes physical activities such as sitting, standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, etc.

The Opportunity
- Provide marine structural engineering design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international marine, coastal and heavy civil projects.
- Design and inspect marine structures including docks, marinas, wharves, piers, steel, timber and concrete pile structures, floating structures, breakwaters, seawalls, bulkheads, and waterfront facilities.
- Experience with design hydraulic structures is a plus.
- Serve as a technical leader in a regional practice lead capacity, implementing engineering strategy and advising on national practice strategy for Coast and Flood Infrastructure projects.
- Execute assigned projects and mentor younger professionals.
