Medical Laboratory Scientist at Kootenai Health in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States Job Description Medical Laboratory Scientist (THIS POSTING IS TO BE CONSIDERED WHEN THE NEXT OPENING IS AVAILABLE) Position Summary : Performs diagnostic testing following standardized procedures on patient samples, which aids physicians in the diagnosis and / or monitoring of various disease states.
Responsibilities : + Resolves problems and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits + Performs a variety of tasks + A limited degree of creativity and latitude is required + Typically reports to a manager or supervisor + Performs other related duties as assigned + Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field + Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function + Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned + Requirements and Minimum Qualifications : + Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or a related science + Successful completion of ASCP examination within 2 years of hire + Working Conditions : + Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs + Must be able to maintain a standing and / or sitting position + Typical equipment used in a clinical job + About Kootenai Health Kootenai Health is a highly esteemed health care organization, serving patients throughout northern Idaho and the Inland Northwest.
