Job Summary
Salvage / Environmental Response Technicians are responsible for tasks related to salvage operations, hazardous waste clean-up, site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling hazardous materials.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Clean driving record and valid driver's license required.
- Ability to meet all physical qualifications per company guidelines.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Heavy equipment operator experience is a plus.
- Must complete confined space entry (CSE) and 40-hour OSHA training.
- Graded background score of 02 or less to access client sites.
Responsibilities
Prioritize health and safety by following policies and acting safely at all times.Perform strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.Operate light and heavy equipment such as pumps, vacuums, oil spill booms, generators, and bobcats.Engage in emergency response activities for spills, contamination, tank cleaning, and decontamination.Work in environments with potential exposure to hazardous chemical and physical agents.Work in elevated noise levels, confined spaces, and at heights using ladders and scaffolding.Complete necessary paperwork, including worksheets, inspections, and safety permits.Respond quickly and communicate shift coverage when on call.Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections, ensuring proper use and reporting issues.Comply with all health and safety regulations.Wear and properly use PPE including respirators and protective gear.Climb ladders, scaffolding, and into / out of tanks and containers.Work on vessels, barges, and operate small marine vessels.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.Shift and Working Conditions
Standard schedule : Monday – Friday, 7 : 00 am to 3 : 45 pm, with a 45-minute lunch. Extended hours and on-call availability are required, including weekends and holidays, especially during emergency responses.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Must frequently stand, walk, sit, handle objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and smell. Occasionally lift / move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustments.
Work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather conditions, and moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations are available for disabilities.
Additional Information
