Our Environmental Services Workers are a critical part of our team as they perform a range of housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a clean and sanitized environment throughout the hospital.
This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and attractive environment. Under close supervision, this role performs repetitive housekeeping tasks in patient areas, offices, clinics, and other assigned areas. Maintains area according to established level of order, cleaning, and sanitation.
Job Duties:
Complete the 7 steps of cleaning daily in the cleaning of patient rooms. This includes emptying trash/recycling, restocking, high dusting, damp wiping, cleaning restrooms, dust mopping, damp mopping, bed making and final room inspection.
Follow the phone system procedures to log in beds for discharges.
Responsible for other cleaning duties as assigned.
Hours: 32 hours per week, 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm)
Rotating (every other) weekend and holiday shifts required.
Location: Main Campus - Lowell General Hospital
Qualifications:
1. Ability to read simple instructions, write, and speak basic English.
2. Ability to operate simple mechanical devices such as floor rotos, vacuums, compactors, etc.
3. Familiarity with operation of heavy duty, electrical cleaning equipment.
4. Ability to interact with other hospital staff members, visitors, and patients in a friendly, cooperative manner.
