What You'll Do

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the shelter location.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a positive environment for residents and staff.

Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.

Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain order within the shelter premises.

Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and maintenance issues as needed to Allied Universal management and shelter leadership.

Collaborate with shelter staff and local authorities as required to address incidents and provide support during emergencies.

Minimum Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.

Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

CPR certification is preferred.

CPR and / or First Aid certification is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
