About the Role
We are seeking a skilled, safety-focused Commercial Diver to join our marine construction team. This role involves surface-supplied diving in support of underwater construction activities including welding, burning, rigging, inspections, demolition, and installation work. You must be comfortable working in zero-visibility water, around heavy equipment, and under strict safety and quality protocols. When not in the water, you’ll support the dive team topside as an integral member of the crew.
Responsibilities
- Perform surface-supplied dives in support of marine construction and inspection projects
- Execute underwater tasks including cutting, welding, burning, jetting, rigging, and formwork installation
- Conduct inspections, measurements, and photographic / video documentation of underwater structures
- Safely operate hydraulic and pneumatic tools and other diving-related equipment underwater
- Work topside as part of the dive team when not diving (tending, deck support, equipment handling, etc.)
- Help maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot diving gear to ensure compliance with ADCI and UMX standards
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, including OSHA, USACE EM 385-1-1, NAVFAC, and company policies
- Participate in JHAs, toolbox talks, pre-dive briefings, and debriefings
- Assist with mobilization and demobilization of dive spreads, barges, and marine construction equipment
- Accurately complete dive logs, reports, and project-specific safety and quality documentation
Qualifications
ADCI or equivalent commercial diver certificationValid First Aid, CPR, and O2 Administration certifications; HAZMAT awareness training preferredTWIC card or the ability to obtain oneAbility to pass a pre-employment dive physical and drug screeningWillingness to travel frequently and work extended hours, nights, or weekends as project demandsComfortable working in confined spaces, low / zero visibility, and hazardous marine environmentsStrong work ethic, team mindset, and commitment to safetyRequired Skills
Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or utility marine construction projectsTopside experience in rigging, welding, formwork, carpentry, or heavy equipment operationFamiliarity with Kirby Morgan helmets, hydraulic tools, and surface-supplied air systemsTraining or familiarity with EM 385-1-1, confined space entry, and lockout / tagout proceduresPay range and compensation package
