Job description

Overview

Position Overview : We seek a System Engineer with deep Linux and OpenShift experience. You'll manage system performance, troubleshoot issues, work with IBM Support, and collaborate with various teams.

Location and Employment Type

  • Location : Birmingham, AL
  • Job Type : 6-month contract to hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Linux Systems : Administer and optimize Linux environments.
  • Handle OpenShift : Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot OpenShift containers.
  • IBM Support : Respond to Call Home alerts and resolve hardware issues with IBM Support.
  • Troubleshoot Issues : Use technical guides and knowledgebases to solve problems.
  • Collaborate : Work with vendors, developers, DBAs, and data center teams.
  • Communicate : Provide clear documentation and updates on technical issues.
  • Database Knowledge : Apply SQL and experience with DB2 or MS-SQL databases.

    • Required Qualifications

  • Deep experience with Linux systems.
  • Proficiency with OpenShift environments.
  • Experience with IBM Support and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • General knowledge of SQL and experience with DB2 or MS-SQL.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.
