Job description

Resource Innovations is seeking an Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESAP) Field Trainer to join our growing team in California. This role provides hands-on training, technical guidance, and field support to weatherization contractors delivering ESAP services in PG&E territory. ESAP is an income-qualified program that helps residents improve home comfort, health, safety, and energy savings through weatherization upgrades, appliance replacements, and home repairs.

The Field Trainer should bring strong experience working directly with contractors and installing energy-efficient equipment. In this role, you will partner closely with the Field and Program Delivery teams to interpret program and equipment requirements, support quality assurance and quality control activities, and contribute to contractor performance improvement efforts. This position plays a key role in strengthening contractor engagement, improving utility client KPIs, and ensuring work is completed safely and to program standards. Experience with utility programs and/or the energy-efficiency sector is highly preferred.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining strong contractor relationships, monitoring inspection performance metrics, supporting and delivering training initiatives, conducting onsite ride-alongs, and verifying the quality of customer education and installation practices. The Field Trainer will also ensure that contractors follow all safety requirements and program guidelines in customer homes. This is a home-based role that requires daily travel throughout the assigned territory.

Resource Innovations (RI) is a women-led energy transformation firm focused on impact. Building on our expertise in energy efficiency, we're constantly expanding our portfolio of clean energy solutions to guide utilities through increasingly complex, connected challenges. Load flexibility. Electrification. Carbon reduction. With every step, we're leading the charge to power change.

Duties:

  • Field Engagement: Build and strengthen strategic contractor relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to enhance performance and advance program goals.
  • Program Execution: Collaborate with program teams to develop strategies that align with evolving objectives, KPIs, regulatory requirements, and market conditions.
  • Training & Capacity Building: Design and deliver targeted training initiatives that support high-quality installations, contractor performance improvement, and strong customer satisfaction.
  • Ride-Alongs: Conduct onsite ride-alongs to reinforce training, assess performance, and provide real-time coaching.
  • Performance Improvement: Partner with contractors to address challenges, improve outcomes, and drive consistent success across the program.
  • Program Management: Translate client and program priorities into actionable work plans, ensuring projects are innovative, high-quality, compliant, and delivered on schedule.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure contractor compliance, service quality, and achievement of performance metrics across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Issue Resolution: Respond quickly to contractor or program concerns, maintaining confidence and long-term partnership.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and results.
  • Data & Reporting: Analyze performance data, utilize Microsoft Office and Salesforce, and complete required electronic reports.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse individuals and businesses.
