Accounting Controller

Walker Ag Group in Danville, IL is seeking a skilled financial director responsible for the following : Full direction of the accounting processes of a large, multi-faceted agriculture based organization. With a support staff and the guidance of outside accounting professionals and our own managment team, the candidate must be able to : Actively monitor internal control and report or address deficiencies Produce accurate, timely financial information Ensure that financial and compliance objectives are met Participate in the process of risk management through insurance, procedures and education of team members Serve as a liason to between upper management and lenders, vendors and insurance companies The skills required : A strong understanding of accounting, both basic general ledger and GAAP The ability and willingness to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Basic understanding of taxation Abbility to use accounting software effectively Intermediate Excel skills Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing The attributes required : Ability to collaborate effectively Ability to triage priorities and deadlines and to adapt to changes in those priorities Entrepenurial thought processes-embracing innovation and establishing protocol as business evolves Ability to adapt to a fast paced, challenging environment Understanding and committment to descretion and confidentiality Ability and willingess to participate in and lead a team Desired education and experience : Bachelor's degree in accounting or agribusiness Minimum of 5 years experience in business in a leadership position Full charge general ledger experience Position is full time, on site in Danville, IL.
