Overview
Advanced Materials Research Assistant role at National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), Wichita State University. This position is based in Huntsville, AL and focuses on supporting applied research for government and industry customers in the areas of additive manufacturing (metallic and polymer), high-temperature composite materials, or software development and databasing.
Responsibilities
- Carry out administrative and technical tasks requested by a supervisor.
- Investigate novel materials and analysis techniques with an understanding of thermo-physical and mechanical properties.
- Document and report findings in a clear and concise manner.
Qualifications
Engineering (or related field) student with interest in additive manufacturing (metallic and polymer), high-temperature composite materials, or software development and databasing.Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during the school semesters; transition to full-time during the summers.Ability to work well in a team; effective communication of ideas and solutions.Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.Strong organizational and time-management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Information
This position does not allow telework.Export Compliance : Requires access to EAR or ITAR-controlled technologies.
