Position Summary :
The Biller is responsible for accurately preparing, auditing, and processing invoices for all completed shipments within the 3PL operations environment. This role ensures that all billing activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner, supporting the financial accuracy of the company and maintaining strong communication between operations, customer service, and accounting teams.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience working in a fast-paced logistics or transportation environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Generate customer invoices based on completed shipments in the company’s Transportation Management System (TMS).
Ensure invoices are billed according to customer-specific requirements and within required timeframes.
Match supporting documentation such as rate confirmations, proof of delivery (PODs), and accessorial approvals.
Communicate with operations, carrier relations, and customer service teams to resolve billing discrepancies or missing documentation.
Audit invoices for accuracy and make necessary adjustments prior to submission.
Upload invoices and backup documentation to customer portals as required.
Track and report on billing metrics, including daily and weekly billing volume and exceptions.
Assist with month-end closing processes and revenue reconciliation.
Maintain organized electronic billing records for auditing and compliance purposes.
Support process improvement initiatives to streamline billing accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications : Education :
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
Experience :
1–3 years of billing or accounting experience, preferably within a 3PL, freight brokerage, or transportation company.
Experience working in a Transportation Management System (TMS)
Familiarity with customer portals and EDI billing processes a plus.
Skills & Competencies :
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments (operations, accounting, customer service).
