POSITION OVERVIEW (Data Analysis) :

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to the interpretation and analysis of data to inform business decisions.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing large datasets, deriving insights, and presenting findings to stakeholders.

The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.

The Data Analyst will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making processes within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Data Analysis) :

  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources including Powerschool and Aspen.
  • Analyze complex data sets using statistical methods and data visualization techniques.
  • Work with leadership team to synthesize data for various stakeholders including leadership, staff and the Board of Directors
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations in data to provide actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand school based requirements and provide data-driven solutions.
  • Implement data quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization techniques.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data models and algorithms.
  • Submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to various stakeholders including Chicago Public Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS (Data Analyst) :

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and techniques for hypothesis testing, regression analysis, etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
  • Certifications in data analysis or related fields (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional) are desirable but not required.
