Job description

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a Neuroradiologist to join the Department of Radiology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

This position may be considered for Remote / Hybrid opportunities.

Position Overview

The Department of Radiology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine / Wexner Medical Center is seeking candidates for faculty positions in Neuroradiology who are passionate about collaborative, patient-centered clinical excellence, dedicated to advancing research and innovation, committed to education, and inspire inclusivity. He / she / they will contribute to the Departments ambition while upholding the organizations mission and values. The responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to patient care, research, and training graduate and postgraduate students.

The Division of Neuroradiology focuses on all aspects of Neuroradiology, in particular, MRI and CT interpretations of the brain, spine, head and neck, and image-guided procedures of the spine and neck. Neuroradiology enjoys excellent collaborative interdisciplinary relationships with referring specialty services, and serves a busy Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and a large NCI-Designated Cancer Center.

Neuroradiology faculty provide outstanding teaching to fellows, residents and medical students, and serve as teaching faculty for thriving Neuroradiology Fellowship, Diagnostic Radiology Residency, and Integrated IR / DR Residency training programs.

Department / Division Overview

The Department of Radiology is rapidly growing, with expanded services at off-site imaging centers, and renovations to our existing clinical spaces and new spaces through the medical center strategic expansion project ($3+ Billion) :

  • Main campus : New construction of a state-of-the-art 830-bed hospital tower, a biomedical research tower, and a Health Sciences building that will house the College of Medicine
  • Around the city : Construction of 2 newly designed ambulatory care centers in New Albany and Dublin now completed and open in addition to 16 established ambulatory care centers up and running today

  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daytime, on-site position : Monday Friday 8a-5p
  • Flexibility in reading location (can read from home) when not working with a trainee.

  • Weekend call shifts (8a-4pm)
  • Approximately 8 weekends per year, can be worked from home

  • Interest in image-guided procedures is desired
  • Contributes to the day-to-day clinical operations of the Neuroradiology Division of the Department of Radiology :
  • Provides high-quality patient care as related to the Neuroradiology Service.

  • Contributes to clinical and imaging operations as related to the Neuroradiology Service.
  • Education, Training, and Faculty Development :
  • Conducts and provides clinical instruction, lectures, seminars, and related educational offerings, both within OSUWMC and at the regional and national level.

  • Collaborates with faculty and leadership in the Division to develop and refine medical student, resident, and fellow training opportunities.
  • Serves as a mentor and sponsor of residents, fellows, and faculty in the Department.
  • Research and Scholarship :
  • Supports clinical and translational research activities and innovation

  • May serve as PI or Co-I in grants and / or clinical trials
  • Serves on Department, OSUCOM, or OSUWMC committees to represent the research and innovation interests of the Department, as appropriate
  • Job Requirements

  • M.D., D.O., or Ph.D. in imaging and / or imaging-related fields
  • Board certification in Radiology (ABR, AOBR)
  • Subspecialty fellowship in Neuroradiology, or equivalent experience
  • Must possess or be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio
  • Must support and embrace the diverse and inclusive culture of College of Medicine, the Medical Center, and the University

    Faculty Defined

    Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) orother terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and areappointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal careerfocus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and / or research.

    Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, orprofessor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary careerfocus centers on research, service, and teaching.Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD / PhD degrees may also beinvolved in clinical care.

    Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associateprofessor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate(PhD) or other terminal degree inthe relevant field of study.Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and areappointed for terms ofone to five years. Their principal careerfocus is research.
