Senior Logistics Lead

At xAI, we're accelerating human scientific discovery through artificial intelligence. We're looking for a Senior Logistics Lead to manage the logistics operations of our facilities, ensuring we maintain our edge in AI innovation. As a Senior Logistics Lead at xAI, you will be pivotal in overseeing the logistics strategy for our daily operations. You'll manage the flow of materials, equipment, and information to optimize our operations, reduce costs, and improve service levels. This role requires a blend of deep logistics expertise and the ability to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement logistics strategies to enhance work site efficiency, focusing on inventory management, demand planning, and logistics execution.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of logistics professionals to ensure alignment with xAI's operational goals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with suppliers and logistics partners, ensuring compliance with service level agreements, cost management, and quality standards.
• Operational Excellence: Drive lean practices in logistics operations, including material handling, transportation, and reverse logistics. Implement innovative solutions to streamline processes.
• Project Management: Coordinate significant logistics projects, such as new facility rollouts, expansions, or technology implementations, ensuring they meet timelines and budget constraints.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data to forecast needs, analyze logistics performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize logistics operations.
• Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, with a focus on high-tech environments. Proven track record in leading logistics teams and managing complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
• Experience with cloud technologies or infrastructure services.
• Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud operations.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, when needed.
• Work is often performed in tight quarters and physical dexterity is necessary to perform job functions.
• Comfortable working in an environment requiring exposure to noise.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift or carry 25-50 lbs.
