Electrical Apprentices (ABC Of Iowa Program)

Join a premier electrical contractor seeking motivated electrical apprentices to assist journeymen in various multi-family projects across the Des Moines Metro.

Responsibilities :

Assist journeyman electricians with daily tasks on residential projects.

Run conduit and pull cables for various electrical installations.

Hang electrical boxes and fixtures.

Use hand and power tools correctly.

Retain taught skills and apply them effectively.

Read and interpret tape measurements accurately.

Essential Skills :

Basic understanding of electrical, conduit, and wiring tasks.

Knowledge of hand and power tools.

Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, and division.

Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications :

High School Diploma or GED.

Experience in construction, blueprint reading, or electrical is beneficial. (Previous ABC Apprentice Hours Automatically Qualify for the role)

Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders.

Work Environment :

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m., with optional overtime throughout the week. The dress code includes work jeans, professional t-shirts, and work boots. The company provides necessary PPE such as high visibility vests, hard hats, glasses, and gloves. Candidates must have basic hand tools including a hammer, tape measure, screwdriver, and wire strippers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00 / hr.
