Associate Water / Wastewater Engineer

Our Client is seeking a motivated Associate Water / Wastewater Engineer in California. This role focuses on guiding water and wastewater projects toward innovative and effective solutions, extending beyond technical proficiency to include project management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with a team of skilled engineers to solve problems, analyze data, and evaluate projects from planning to construction.
- Prepare Preliminary Engineering Reports, Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for :
- Drinking Water Infrastructure : Wells, storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and water treatment facilities.
- Wastewater Infrastructure : Wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
- Recycled Water Infrastructure : Storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, and pressure reducing stations.
- Develop comprehensive master planning reports and accurate hydraulic models to support infrastructure projects.
- Participate in local professional organizations to build industry connections and stay updated on industry trends.
- Assist in identifying, pursuing, and securing business opportunities with key clients, and develop compelling responses to RFPs / RFQs.
- Cultivate long-term relationships with clients by providing exceptional service and exceeding expectations.
- Guide clients through the permitting process and assist with infrastructure financing applications.
- Mentor junior and assistant engineers, providing feedback to foster their professional growth.
- Deliver clear presentations to governing boards and city councils to advocate for project approvals and funding.
- Collaborate with local and state regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and secure necessary permits.
- Work effectively with other disciplines (geotechnical engineers, land surveyors, electrical engineers, structural engineers) to ensure seamless project development.
- Travel to project sites and client meetings as required.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and / or Master of Science in Civil / Environmental Engineering with a concentration in water / wastewater.
- 3-8 years of progressive experience in water / wastewater infrastructure design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Innovyze InfoSewer / InfoWater, and ArcGIS.
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks.
Certifications / Licenses :
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, California PE preferred, or ability to obtain a California PE license within a year if licensed in another state.
- Experience with local municipalities and water districts within CA strongly preferred. Experience with other municipalities and public agencies in Southern California is a plus.
Compensation :
- Pay range : $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year.
- Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
