Associate Attorney (Spanish Required)

Join our dynamic and supportive legal team as an Associate Immigration Attorney, where you will play a vital role in advocating for clients navigating the U.S. immigration system. From your first day, you will provide direct representation to clients in preliminary immigration court hearings and USCIS interviews. Working under the guidance of experienced attorney supervisors, you will review and prepare submissions to immigration courts and USCIS, including applications, Requests for Evidence, briefs, and motions.

If you are licensed in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C., you will also have the opportunity to assist with Special Immigrant Juvenile custody suits and predicate findings. As you develop your skills, you will take on increased responsibility, including representing clients in Individual Calendar (Merits) Hearings before the immigration courts. Collaboration is key—you will work closely with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure the best outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct legal representation to clients in immigration court hearings and USCIS interviews
• Draft, review, and file applications, Requests for Evidence, briefs, and motions for immigration courts and USCIS
• Assist with Special Immigrant Juvenile custody suits and predicate findings (if licensed in VA, MD, or DC)
• Represent clients in Individual Calendar (Merits) Hearings as experience grows
• Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to support case preparation and client communication
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration law and procedures

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in any U.S. state or territory, or recent JD graduate awaiting bar results / in final steps of licensing

High proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written)

Strong legal writing and research skills

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure

Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to client service

Experience working with immigration clients preferred

Ability to provide sample motions and briefs; Virginia bar license strongly preferred

Preferred Experience

Prior experience as an associate, paralegal, or intern in an immigration law firm is a plus, but not required
