Job Title : Sub Arc Welder

Job Description

Join a dynamic manufacturing and distribution company specializing in mechanical seals as a Sub Arc Welder. You will be responsible for welding on pipes and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter and fabricating parts for the seals and pump industry. This role requires versatility as it involves working in a job shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the sub arc welding machine to weld on pipes and smaller vessels.
• Perform normal welding requiring a MIG root, Flux Core fill, and cap.
• Ensure lines are straight while running the sub arc welding machine.
• Weld on pipe / pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter.

Work Environment

Work in a newer facility that offers a spacious area with a team of 5-7 people. The environment is clean, without air conditioning but with open bay doors and fans. The Systems shop focuses on welding and assembly, while the Machine shop houses CNC programmers, machinists, and quality control staff. The dress code includes steel-toe boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses. The schedule is primarily first shift, Monday to Friday from 6 : 00 am to 6 : 30 pm, with Saturday shifts from 6 : 00 am to either 11 : 00 am or 2 : 00 pm depending on workload.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 / hr.
