We’re helping several manufacturing teams add Sales Engineers — aka the rare humans who can explain complex technical concepts and make customers actually excited about them. If you can translate engineering into plain English, we already love you.
Depending on the role, your day may include :
Helping customers understand solutions without needing a 47-slide PowerPoint
Working with engineering and production teams so “custom request” doesn’t mean “panic”
Building relationships that last longer than a machine tool warranty
Quoting, estimating, and offering technical recommendations that make sense
Supporting customers from the first question to the final delivery
Occasionally saving the day by catching a missed detail no one else noticed
You’ll thrive if :
You’re equally comfortable talking to machinists, engineers, and customers
You enjoy showing people why something works, not just that it does
You love solving problems and hearing “That makes total sense — thank you!”
You can spot an opportunity long before the customer realizes they need it
You’ve ever described manufacturing equipment using phrases like “It’s basically a robot with a personality”
Great fits typically have :
Experience in manufacturing, machining, automation, or industrial products
Strong technical aptitude — you don’t need a PE license, but you should know what a tolerance is
Relationship-building skills that feel natural, not sales-y
The ability to listen, understand customer needs, and offer the right solution
If you’re a Sales Engineer who loves helping customers solve real problems (and maybe geeking out a little along the way), we have multiple opportunities you’ll want to hear about. Email alyse.gardner@gogpac.com OR apply directly!!
