American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry ED Holds position requiring strong cardiac tele skills and Arizona or compact RN licensure.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ED Holds / Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital settingPrimarily care for ED hold patients awaiting inpatient unit placement, focusing on cardiac telemetry casesPatient ratio is typically 1 : 412-hour shifts available for days or nightsWeekend requirement is 4 shifts per 4-week scheduleRotation for holiday coverage with permanent staffFloating may be required to med / surg, tele, overflow units, and sister facilitiesNurse must interpret telemetry strips without the support of monitor techsUses Cerner EMR; prior experience preferredED PCTs available for supportNo vents managed in this unitResponsible for managing care of ED patients awaiting admission, focusing on cardiac telemetry needsWill not be assigned as primary RN for new ER patients, but may assist with tasks such as vitals, IV starts, and medication administrationOrientation includes 2 shifts on Med / Surg / Tele at the primary campus and a pass / fail simulation labScrub color is navyAssignment may include floating to affiliated campuses as neededCandidates may not have been employed by the associated health system within the past yearMust live at least 50 miles from the facility if residing in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN\n \n Requirements\n
Active Arizona or compact RN license required at submissionCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredMinimum of 2 years recent experience in cardiac telemetry or similar unitAbility to titrate and manage common cardiac drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and AmiodaroneMust pass a dysrhythmia exam and a simulation lab on sterile technique prior to startingMust be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independentlyCopy of driver's license required for considerationMust provide two professional references, including one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years\n Benefits\n
