Job description

Altheda Medical Center is a multi-specialty outpatient practice on a mission to make high-quality, patient-first care accessible to all. Our services include primary care, mental and behavioral health, wellness & aesthetics, and specialized exams. Our vision is to redefine community health—one neighborhood at a time.

Role Overview :

We’re seeking enthusiastic interns to serve as Marketing Associates and become ambassadors for Altheda’s mission. You don’t need a formal marketing background—just a passion for community engagement and an eagerness to learn. You’ll work alongside our Marketing & Business Development team to amplify Altheda’s presence both online and through hands-on, in-person initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Community Outreach : Plan and execute health-focused events at local community centers, schools, and partner organizations.
  • Grassroots Engagement : Coordinate volunteer-led wellness workshops, information booths, and neighborhood canvassing.
  • Content Support : Assist in creating simple digital assets (social media graphics, flyers, email templates) under guidance.
  • Partnership Development : Research and help cultivate relationships with nonprofits, faith groups, and civic organizations.
  • Feedback & Reporting : Gather community feedback at events and compile insights to inform future outreach strategies.
  • Administrative Support : Maintain contact lists, track event logistics, and manage supply inventories for promotional materials.

Who You Are :

  • Curious & Driven : Naturally curious about healthcare innovation and eager to learn on the job.
  • People-Person : Enjoy meeting new people and communicating Altheda’s mission in an engaging, relatable way.
  • Self-Starter : Proactively organize events, manage your schedule, and follow through on deliverables.
  • Team Player : Collaborate well with colleagues across departments and welcome feedback.
  • Flexible & Adaptable : Comfortable juggling digital tasks and face-to-face outreach in varied settings.
  • Qualifications :

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (any major welcome).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Reliable transportation for in-person outreach within a 10-mile radius of Pittsburgh.
  • Availability for occasional evening / weekend events.
  • What You’ll Gain :

  • Hands-on experience in community health marketing and outreach.
  • Mentorship from seasoned healthcare marketers and business development leaders.
  • Opportunity to lead your own mini-campaigns and events.
  • Networking with local nonprofits, healthcare professionals, and civic organizations.
  • Stipend to cover travel and materials expenses.
  • Letter of recommendation and professional reference upon successful completion.
