Boeing is seeking a 2nd Shift Materials Management / Tooling Manager to support F18 / C17 / F15 / E4B / VC25-A, VC25-B and AWACS and various other Material and Tools rooms in San Antonio, TX.
Position responsibilities include managing employees performing capacity planning, developing and executing project and process plans, acquiring resources for projects and processes, developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships, providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes, managing, developing, and motivating employees, developing project or operational plans aligned to the department's objectives, implementing plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are achieved, assigning authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan, reviewing plans' execution, making appropriate adjustments, and resolving issues, monitoring appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan, forecasting resource needs and obtaining and managing personnel, facilities, services, equipment, and tools to meet project and daily operating requirements, acquiring, deploying, and scheduling personnel to meet project and operational objectives, reviewing, approving, and implementing facility, equipment, and service plans to maximize productivity and ensure safety, security, environmental and regulatory compliance, coordinating with providers to achieve timely delivery of resources, coaching, counseling, mentoring, and providing developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities, providing on-going developmental feedback, recognizing contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce, developing workgroup, project or operational goals, objectives, and related metrics to ensure alignment with company vision / strategy, measuring progress, making adjustments as needed, holding direct reports accountable for achieving goals, achieving goals for productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction, applying in-depth understanding of budget management principles and practices to develop and administer project or operating budgets, ensuring work statement is completed on schedule and budget, establishing partnerships and relationships with internal customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports, conveying organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project, or process goals, proactively communicating with employees, peers and customers, keeping others informed by communicating project status, conducting, and participating in team meetings, providing presentations, and listening to employee concerns and suggestions, communicating policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations, implementing policies, procedures, and documents to ensure consistent execution of processes within workgroup in support of Boeing and regulatory requirements, enforcing company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc, identifying opportunities to improve work-related products and processes within own workgroup, project, or process, engaging and empowering employees to make process improvements, systematically evaluating proper job classification of employees, setting employee goals and objectives, managing, and evaluating performance to plan on a recurring basis, assigning employee salaries based on employee value and Boeing guidelines to provide a fair and equitable work environment, providing technical direction and guidance to others regarding approved processes, tools, technology and skills for own projects or processes, ensuring workgroup products or processes meet customer, company, quality, industry, and regulatory requirements, providing approval of workgroup technical approaches, products, and processes.
This position may require the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and / or final U.S. Top Secret clearance Post Start may be required. Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements will be required for this position.
Basic qualifications (required skills / experience) : 5+ years of stockroom / crib procedures experience, 3+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment, 3+ years of experience working with large aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) inspections, must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.
Preferred qualifications (skills / experience) : experience in a role requiring the purchasing of tooling / material and management of day to day activities in a tool / material room, experience using CribMaster or GoldEsp or related applications, Boeing Materials / Tooling related policy and procedures experience, LEAN Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Tier I & II & III and Integrated Product Team concepts and team dynamics, etc, 5+ years of experience conducting Compliance, Foreign Object Debris (FOD), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), Tool Control and / or Audit assessments.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range : $102,300 - $138,000.
