Core Responsibilities
- Technical and disciplinary leadership of subordinates; To guide, motivate, assess, control and develop employees.
- Enforce employee compliance with all company, plant and departmental operating policies and procedures.
- Review and be compliant with health, safety, and environmental protection policies according to the management system; Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the logistics staff in general.
- Implement the principles of leadership and exemplify Benteler's Core Values of Ambition, Courage and Respect.
- Perform efficiently in a team-oriented environment and establish good cooperation with the management team.
- Cooperate with sales department to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
- Continuous improvement of logistics processes in the plant.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for logistics operations, in cooperation with the Supervisor of Shipping / Dispatch.
- Continuous improvement and controlling of the operational Key Performance Indicators of Logistics and Transportation.
- Secure best available freight rates through carrier negotiation together with Purchasing.
- Ensure the correct description of the logistics process in the IT environment.
- SAP Distribution Process owner.
- Support and execute logistics improvement projects.
- Compliance and implementation of the management system (processes and standards).
- Work in coordination with Supervisor of Shipping / Dispatch to ensure inventory is accurate both physically and systematically.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma / General Equivalency Diploma (GED).Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Operations or Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred or equivalent work experience.3-5 years experience in Supply Chain / Logistics management leadership position.Broad proven knowledge of logistics processes, ideally from the metalworking industry.Strong leadership skills, (including sound judgment, aptitude for directing and motivating others, inductive and deductive reasoning abilities, problem solving skills, positive attitude, and results oriented).Knowledge of SAP SD, WM, MM modules.Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of TMS Systems.Ability to motivate, guide, and lead employees.Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills both written and oral to effectively communicate.
