Job Title : Senior Data Engineer (GCP Lead Data Architect)

Location : Sunrise, FL (Day 1 Onsite | 3 Days in Office)

Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to take on a Lead Data Architect role. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a key role in driving data architecture, engineering practices, and solutions for data-driven initiatives across the organization. This is a long-term contract position requiring candidates to be based in or around Sunrise, FL , as the role mandates on-site work (3 days a week) from Day 1.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud-based data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .

Architect and build scalable, high-performance data pipelines , ensuring data quality and reliability across various systems.

Work with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, analytics needs, and data integration strategies.

Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data accessibility, integration, and usability.

Drive best practices in data modeling , data governance, and data warehousing, leveraging GCP services like BigQuery , Dataflow , Pub / Sub , Cloud Storage , etc.

Ensure data security, compliance, and efficient data processing by establishing effective protocols and guidelines.

Troubleshoot and optimize data workflows and architecture, ensuring efficient resource management and cost control.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.

Required Skills & Experience :

5+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a proven track record of building large-scale data systems.

Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , specifically with BigQuery , Dataflow , Pub / Sub , Cloud Storage , and other GCP data services.

Extensive experience in designing and building ETL pipelines , integrating structured and unstructured data, and working with cloud-native tools .

Proficient in SQL , Python , and / or Java for data processing and automation.

Experience with data warehousing and data modeling concepts, and a strong understanding of cloud data architecture .

Knowledge of data governance , security , and compliance standards.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI / CD pipelines .

Familiarity with machine learning models and how to integrate them into data architectures.

Experience with data lake architectures or real-time data processing .

Qualifications :

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Local to Sunrise, FL or willing to relocate for an on-site role (3 days per week).
