Residential Facilities Maintenance Mechanic
Location : Richmond, VA
A day in this role
Your morning kicks off by checking overnight service requests. You might start with an HVAC call to restore comfort in a residence, then move on to a quick electrical fix in a common area. Midday, you walk the property, inspecting systems and spotting issues before they become problems. In the afternoon, you finalize a make-ready for a new move-in, update your work log with parts used, and team up with a colleague on a larger project. Throughout the day, you keep safety and great service front and center.
What you'll handle
- Carry out routine maintenance across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Complete regular property inspections to uncover and resolve maintenance needs.
- Respond quickly and professionally to service requests from residents and staff.
- Document work performed and track materials and parts used with accuracy.
- Prepare vacant units so they are move-in ready for new residents.
- Follow safety requirements and company policies at all times.
- Work cooperatively with teammates on multi-step or larger-scale projects.
- Deliver courteous, solutions-focused support to residents and address concerns.
What you bring
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or a related trade is a plus.Hands-on experience in property maintenance or an equivalent building trades role.Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and general repair methods.Proven troubleshooting ability and timely problem resolution.Clear communication skills and a customer-first mindset.Meticulous attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.Comfort working independently and collaborating within a team.Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.Technical strengths
