Job Description :

ANGARAI is looking for an Electrical Engineer who will proficiently use software to identify locations that would be best suited for an energy recovery system.

Participate in the installation of the energy recovery system and evaluate the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the system.

Assist in addressing technical issues, including simulation, installation, monitoring, maintenance, and operation of wayside energy storage systems and reversible thyristor rectifier in traction power substations for the current and future projects.

Assist in completing traction power system simulations and in evaluating the energy storage system operation.

Major Roles and Responsibilities :

The Consultant shall provide staff augmentation services to Maintenance of Way Engineering (MOWE) Traction Power Operations Engineering (TPOE) department.

The typical services provided by this position are anticipated to include, but not limited to, the following :

• Supporting in conducting field inspections and surveys.
• Providing support for completing traction power system simulations.
• Reviewing project submittals.
• Providing support in developing procedures.
• Working across multiple departments providing support for the monitoring and operation of the energy storage systems.
• Assisting in the development of the energy storage system inspection and acceptance "pass-or-fail" criteria for substations.
• Providing support for evaluating the energy storage system operation.
• Attending all project meetings related to the energy storage systems.
• Providing support for engineering and operational analyses, and generating associated reports that address the efficiencies of the system's performance for all installations.
• Using AutoCAD for electrical design of drawings and schematics.

Required Qualifications :

The Consultant Qualified Electrical Engineer shall meet or exceed each of the following requirements :

• Two years minimum demonstrated experience in Electrical Power, including coordinating functions with all disciplines.
• Experience in reviewing submittals.
• Experience in using AutoCAD for electrical engineering design of drawings and schematics.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the fundamentals of a network environment to reliably perform electronic document control functions.
• Complete and pass Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) training.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with internal and external customers and agencies in a professional business environment.
• Reside within Washington DC Metropolitan area and report to work.
• Experience in conducting, reviewing, and writing inspection procedures and specifications.
• Experience in generating feasibility studies, risk assessments, in-house estimates, and technical evaluation reports and briefings.
• Experience in traction power system simulation to evaluate available regenerative power and the required energy storage capacity.
• Experience in conducting site surveys and field acceptance testing of power systems.
• Possess decision making skills.

Education :

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or in any related field. Master's is preferred.
