Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Construction Bid / Job Coordinator and Business Development Specialist to oversee our Estimating Department and drive business growth in the masonry industry.
This role involves managing bid invitations, coordinating job activities from award to project initiation, and fostering relationships with general contractors to expand our market presence.
Responsibilities
- Manage all bid invitations, including filing Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents, evaluating potential projects based on size, location, scope of work, and inviting GCs.
- Download project plans and integrate deadlines into the company calendar.
- Assign projects to estimators and ensure compliance with special documentation requirements.
- Verify insurance requirements, keep up to date with bid move dates and addenda.
- Follow up on submitted bids to determine our standing and understand the bid spread.
- Ensure smooth transition of awarded jobs to project initiation, overseeing all necessary preparations for effective project start.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure all resources and documentation are in place for project execution.
- Maintain prequalification status with general contractors.
- Network actively with GCs involved in design-build projects to promote our services.
- Develop and implement broad networking strategies to market our company's capabilities and services to potential clients.
- Manage and maintain a library of unit costs and cost estimation data to support accurate and competitive bidding.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in bid coordination, project coordination, and business development within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, documentation, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and operate under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, Bluebeam and databases related to construction cost estimation.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
