Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage commercial construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing commercial construction projects, a strong problem-solving background, understanding of construction processes, and excellent leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution : Understand and execute detailed project plans, schedules, and SOPs. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project success. Provide hands-on oversight of your various project activities to ensure they align with project specifications, quality standards, and safety policies. Procure and manage project submittals, RFIs, change orders, and materials.
- Budget and Financial Management : Personally own and successfully manage project budgets, including cost estimates, expenditures, and weekly financial forecasts. Monitor project financials to ensure costs are controlled and remain within budget. Manage subcontractor and supplier insurance, W9, and contract agreements.
- Team Leadership and Coordination : Lead and motivate project teams, including site managers, subcontractors, and vendors. Facilitate effective communication among team members and stakeholders. Diplomatically resolve conflicts and address issues that arise during the construction process.
- Quality Control and Compliance : Ensure all construction activities comply with permitted plans, building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work. Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Client and Stakeholder Management : Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly. Prepare and present regular project updates to clients and stakeholders. Create repeat clients by effectively managing client expectations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, customer surveys.
Qualifications
Problem solver. You should be able to think on your feet and devise solutions to problems.Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.Proven track record of successfully managing commercial construction projects.Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, and financial management.Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft office suite.Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.Bachelor's degree in Construction Management (Related experience will be considered).Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar accreditation.Experience with design-build projects and / or larger commercial / industrial sector projects.Advanced knowledge of construction methodologies and technologies.Company Description
