Engineering Manager
We seek Engineering Managers who are hands-on and have the vital expertise and passion to lead teams in solving complex problems related to distributed systems and cloud-native technologies and developing new services that address customer issues. This role will lead the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Queue service. As an Engineering Manager, you should be a distributed systems generalist who can design extensive system interactions while being very hands-on and able to investigate any part of the stack and lower-level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scalability, feel comfortable working in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn. You will be responsible for :
- Ensure high availability and operational posture of your service
- Set the roadmap by negotiating requirements and deliverables with product management, internal and external customers
- Develop project development plans
- Drive the team to deliver on availability and roadmap commitments
- Mentor and grow your team members
Responsibilities :
Own a high scale, distributed cloud scale serviceProvide leadership, direction and strategy for a team of senior engineersLead and deliver on a large portfolio of key OCI initiatives with a special emphasis on Messaging PlatformDevelop a prioritized roadmap of products, features and engineering asksDrive the delivery of roadmap commitments on time with high qualityWork closely with a variety of stakeholders (other OCI teams, Oracle Corp teams, product management) to ensure cross-organizational dependencies are managed electivelyProvide regular updates to executive managementMonitor the health of the services in the OCI fleet and drive solutions to problems before they impact Cloud capacity and availabilityMinimal Qualifications :
Minimum 2+ years of management experience in Cloud Services DomainMinimum 7+ years in large scale servicesExcellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient with Java, Cloud Queueing Solutions, distributed systemsBachelor's degree in computer science and engineering or related engineering fieldsPreferred Qualifications :
Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologiesExperience developing service-oriented systems, REST, pythonExperience managing Tier 0 ServicesKnowledge of Scrum & Agile MethodologiesMasters / Ph.D. in Computer ScienceDisclaimer :

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US : Hiring Range in USD from : $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
