DESCRIPTION

The Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest department within the UCSD School of Medicine and is responsible for fulfilling the teaching, research and clinical missions of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The department employs approximately 500 salaried faculty, 168 academic appointees, 331 residents, fellows and postdocs and 480 staff personnel.

Under supervision of the Division Administrator, Division Chief, and the Fellowship Training Program Directors, the Fellowship Coordinator provides support for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship program, the division's education / conference programs, division wide communication and newsletter, and divisional website.

The administration of the Infectious Diseases fellowship training program requires full knowledge of the professional goals of an accredited training program. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements. The ACGME Fellowship Program in the Division of Infectious Diseases annually receives between 150-200 applicants, conducts 20-30 interviews; and fills 2-4 available slots. Approximately 14 ACGME Fellows are in various stages of the program.

Participates in coordination of clinical schedules for trainees and the division. Assist the Directors with the coordination and creation of the annual schedules. Maintain and track schedules, and create changes throughout the year as schedules and availability are updated. Provide general administrative support to faculty and the division, including but not limited to assisting with purchase orders, reimbursements, travel, and other general support.

Applies acquired skills, process, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners. Coordinates program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six years of related experience, education / training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience / training.

Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.

Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.

Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.

Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

Experience developing and implementing systems to track program graduates and maintain statistical information.

Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.

Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range : $65,125 - $94,858 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $31.19 - $45.43
