Diagnostics Repair Strategy Program Manager
Location : Lisle, IL 60532
Schedule : Onsite, 1-2 year contract
Pay Range : $63 / hour, with 2 weeks PTO and Medical Insurance
Overview :
The Diagnostics Repair Strategy Program Manager plays a critical role in shaping diagnostic capabilities during New Product Development. This individual ensures serviceability is protected and that new components are diagnosable. The role involves close collaboration with our client's R&D and Service Solutions teams to uphold diagnostic standards and drive repair strategy excellence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead diagnostic strategy development for new vehicle programs.
- Participate in concept sheet reviews.
- Define and document diagnostic standards.
- Create presentations to communicate risks, issues, and timeline adherence.
- Support current production initiatives to reduce warranty spend through diagnostic optimization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, service engineering, and field teams.
- Conduct competitive and internal service benchmarking :
- Review internal and external best practices.
- Perform on-vehicle evaluations and service repair time benchmarking.
- Integrate benchmarking insights into repair strategies.
Required Skills :
Hands-on experience with tools such as :GT-Power, DevX, INCA, Matlab, Calterm, SimulinkVector CANalyzer and CANoeDeep understanding of :UDS Protocol (ISO 14229) and its application in vehicle diagnosticsCAN communication tools and protocolsStrong background in failure analysis and troubleshooting vehicle systems (e.g., DFMEA)Excellent presentation and verbal / written communication skillsDesired Skills :
Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively across diverse teamsFamiliarity with engineering systems such as Vis Mockup, CAD, TeamcenterExperience with Diesel, Medium / Heavy Duty, and Electric VehiclesProven ability to manage complex projects end-to-endAnalytical mindset with ability to interpret complex data and recommend actionable solutionsMinimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in technical service engineering, automotive or truck service ~ OR~Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience ~ OR~7+ years of relevant experience without a degree
