Patient Access Representative
A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join its growing team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive experience through professional communication, accurate registration, and efficient coordination of services. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone with professionalism and empathy.
- Accurately register and update patient demographic, insurance, and billing information in the system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations or referrals.
- Collect and post patient payments, copays, and account balances as needed.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments in coordination with clinical staff.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies regarding confidentiality and data security.
- Support front desk operations, including managing patient flow and addressing inquiries in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with billing, clinical, and administrative teams to resolve patient or insurance issues.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.1+ year of experience in a healthcare, medical office, or hospital registration setting preferred.Knowledge of insurance verification and medical terminology a plus.Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a calm, professional demeanor in stressful situations.Equal Opportunity Statement
