Commercial Construction Estimator (Three Day Weekends 4-10hr Shifts)

The ideal candidate for this position would be competitive and passionate about the role and possess the skill of putting together an achievable estimate and take ownership of that goal. They should be able to work with a team of experts in all divisions of commercial construction and be consistent and timely in producing the estimate. We are also looking for someone who is self-motivated and able to create a very accurate and strategic overall plan for an entire project.

Primary Function:

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing proposals, detailed scopes of work, presentations and design plans for all projects within very specific and preset deadlines. This includes both large and small projects as well as preparing all change orders for projects in progress.

Responsibilities:

1.Reviews all site surveys provided by the sales team to determine the scope on all projects.

2.Always perform a pre-estimate review before beginning each estimate.

3.Design projects from site surveys in order to provide an estimate for the project.

4.Maintain estimating database with current rental, vendor and subcontractor pricing.

5.Maintain company database with all contact information of rental, vendor and subcontractor companies for project managers.

6.Design projects for presentations which will include all materials to be used for the construction of the projects.

7.Build and maintain relationships with preferred rental, vendors and subcontractor's companies for consistent competitive pricing.

8.Responsible for all RFP's to all rental, vendor and subcontractor companies

9.Prepare a detailed design build proposal package for the project manager to have a successful construction project.

10.Prepare all change order pricing for all ongoing projects for the project managers.

11.Prepare and send to sales team all RFI's for every estimate being prepared.

12.Always cross check each subtotal in estimate to ensure the accuracy of the estimate.

13.Estimates to include all components of a proposal package which are design documents needed, permits required,

inspections required, contact lists, scope matrix, RFI's, scope of work, schedule of values, alternates, allowances,

value engineering, cost comparisons and cost tabulations.

14.Provide Calander schedule for when request for proposal is received and when that proposal will be ready for presentation.

15.Collaborate with sales team, project managers and all division superintendents in order to develop a scope of work and

a very detailed estimate to propose.

16.Coordinate and collaborate with sales team and customer for all presentations at the office. This will include design plans,

material samples, renderings, virtual design walk throughs and proposal packages.

17.Thorough knowledge of the estimate database and applied procedures within the database to produce accurate and detailed estimates.

18.Knowledge of current Sacon applied construction techniques, procedures and methods unique to the company.

19.Responsible for preparing the entire estimate for all divisions and sections of construction then obtain prices from

rental companies, vendors and subcontractors to compare to the company estimate.

20.Responsible for providing all documents to the project filled that were used and obtained during the proposal process.

21.Meet all estimate deadlines for all new projects and projects already in progress.

22.Knowledge of Sacon’s Safety Program and OSHA guidelines. Complies with Company policies, procedures, and standards.

23.Always prepare estimates with integrity, honesty, hard work, safety, and quality throughout all aspects of the proposal process

and always professional in the presentations and any time representing the company and conducting Sacon business.

24.Always demand thorough and professionally prepared site surveys from the sales team to ensure an accurate design,

scope of work, price and professional proposal package.

25.Always add to the estimate database and maintain accurate locations of pricing per the 50 divisions of construction.

26.Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient in all aspects of the Sacon database cost estimator and get updated training.

· Analytical and able to visualize two dimensional drawings in three dimensions.

· Demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal.

· Proficient in the Stack digitizer program and get updated training.

· Able to draft project plans for estimating, presentations and permitting using the Punch program.

· Proficient in Microsoft excel, stack, punch design and Buildr software

· Able to conduct presentations with the customers and explain every aspect of the design and estimate.

· Posses the vision to produce the estimate for all the divisions and sections of commercial construction.
