Position Summary
The Environmental Resources Coordinator plans, directs, and oversees the activities of contractors engaged in stream monitoring and restoration projects at Core Natural Resource's (CNR) Pennsylvania Mining Complex. Ensures the work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality standards, and in compliance with Core's core values of Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous Improvement.
Target Responsibilities
- Coordinate stream restoration activities associated with flow reduction and pooling. Activities include : streamflow augmentation installation, streamflow augmentation operation and maintenance, streambed grouting and channel restoration to enhance stream habitat and improve stability of stream course, current and cross section
- Coordinate stream flow monitoring activities associated with longwall mining activities
- Contractor oversight and scheduling
- Conduct site visits to confirm work is performed in accordance with corporate policies, permit conditions, E&S controls, and all regulated activities on construction projects
- Communicate schedules and project status with regulatory agencies
- Notify and / or meet with property owners to review work activity
- Plan, manage, and assist permitting to prepare site-specific permit applications, including stream crossings, township road crossings, state highway occupancy, chapter 105, nationwide 27, and other authorizations to facilitate stream restoration
- Obtain PNDI and PHMC clearances, and prepare and submit E&S control plans to appropriate regulatory authorities
- Maintain communication with land and permitting departments on current and future project schedules
- Provide budget recommendations to managers responsible for financing and approving budgets
- Track costs, and generate monthly expenditure update reports for total budget and categorical unit cost rates
- Coordinate biomonitoring and plant / tree survival surveys associated with pool restoration activities
- Position is 90% field-based work
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geology, or related fieldMinimum five years of project management experience; mining or oil & gas operations preferredA high degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applicationsStrong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to develop collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organization, contractors, property owners and regulatory agency personnelAbility to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environmentSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reportingMust be able to drive safely off-road and in adverse weather conditionsMust be able to walk distances over uneven terrain, with the ability to carry light loadsWe look forward to seeing you
