DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This is professional work of an administrative nature involving the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring and coordination of Early Intervention Services (EIS). The ID Program Specialist is responsible for the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring and coordination of community EI programs. Duties involve interpreting rules, regulations, program policies and objectives and administering or assisting in appropriate development and support of EIS to meet the needs of eligible infants, toddlers, young children and their families. To fulfill these duties, the ID Program Specialist will possess comprehensive knowledge in the requirements set forth in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), P.L. 102-119, and the Pennsylvania Early Intervention Services System Act (Act 212 of 1990, P.L. 1372, No. 212). This employee will also be knowledgeable and conversant in all Intellectual Disability bulletins that establish Early Intervention policies and procedures including, but not limited to, screening, evaluation and eligibility, children at risk, Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), P.L. 99-457 (Part H), and Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT), as well as all related rules & regulations. The ID Program Specialist will also be involved in provider contracts and determining allocations.
