Position Overview
We are seeking an exceptionally qualified Electronics Technician to provide critical support in our manufacturing and repair division. This contract-to-hire opportunity demands a specialist with a deep technical foundation in electronic diagnostics and the proven capacity to operate independently with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate drives quality outcomes through meticulous attention to detail and hands-on expertise.
Core Responsibilities & Work Progression
- Advanced Board Repair : Diagnose and repair complex electronic units and printed circuit boards (PCBs) at the component level.
- Quality Assurance (QC) : Execute rigorous quality inspections and testing on all repaired or newly assembled units to confirm strict adherence to engineering and safety standards.
- Technical Assembly : Perform meticulous cable assembly tasks and gradually transition to diagnosing and working on more intricate electronic systems over time.
- Inbound Service : Efficiently troubleshoot, test, and repair incoming customer-returned boards (Repair and Test / QC).
- Operational Integrity : Maintain a highly organized, safe, and clean workspace, and collaborate effectively with the engineering team to meet production targets.
Essential Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
Soldering Mastery : A minimum of five years of verifiable, hands-on experience performing precise surface mount component (SMT) soldering on PCBs.Circuit Literacy : Proven skill in accurately reading, interpreting, and applying information from schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering blueprints.Board-Level Expertise : Extensive familiarity with PCB architectures and demonstrated skill in board-level diagnostics and fault isolation.Component Knowledge : In-depth understanding of discrete electronic components, including function and testing procedures for items like capacitors, resistors, and diodes.Soft Skills : Exceptional diagnostic aptitude, strong oral communication, and unwavering commitment to product quality and timely attendance.Physical Requirements : Must be able to safely lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted.Preferred
Prior practical experience with multi-pin conductor cable assembly is highly desirable. An Associate's Degree in Electronics or a closely related technical field is a strong plus.
