Mechanic

Mechanic Job Description

The mechanic will be responsible for repairing and performing preventative maintenance on all company equipment. The mechanic maintains the fleet by inspecting and servicing vehicles and equipment, conducting performance tests; diagnosing problems; repairing or replacing parts.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and service to a variety of landscape power equipment including commercial mowers, 2 cycle equipment, utility vehicles, trucks and trailers
• Operate safely and maintain shop in a clean, orderly manner
• Maintain equipment in good working condition; the nature of the job requires that we work long hours at times; overtime may be required.
• Responsible for sharpening blades, grease equipment, change the oil in all equipment including all trucks and trailer
• Perform full inspections of truck, trailers and lawn maintenance equipment in order to repair problems before they become safety issues
• Work directly with employees addressing concerns
• May be asked to travel to other locations operated by the company with possible overnight stay on larger jobs
• Other task as assigned

Status : Non-Exempt

Reports To : Shop Service Manager

Hours : Monday- Friday - Can be placed on either shift based on business demands
