Position Overview
Okta’s Customer Identity Cloud (CIC), powered by Auth0 technology, offers a developer‑friendly authentication platform. The Services Architect – CIAM is a technical authority on both cloud and on‑premises IT systems. You’ll design, implement, and oversee Okta’s industry‑leading cloud identity platform at customer sites.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the gathering of business, functional, and technical requirements for an Okta‑powered identity platform.
- Document common technical and functional requirements for specific solutions.
- Support creation of project plans to develop and implement the proposed solution.
- Translate requirements into designs and provide technical leadership and oversight as part of the Professional Services delivery team.
- Assist with periodic customer health‑checks and project reviews.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
8+ years of overall IT / software development experience, solution design, and technical architecture.3+ years of consulting experience.3+ years of application architecture design.3+ years designing IAM architectures.Experience implementing cloud solutions (AWS, Google, Salesforce, etc.).Experience with customer identity use cases (B2C / B2B, registration, MFA, SSO, delegated admin, social identities).Strong communication skills with CxOs and executives.Experience leading discovery workshops and deriving requirements.Strong knowledge of security architecture : LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, SSO, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, web protocols, JSON, REST.Proficiency in Java, .NET, JavaScript, Angular, or React.Experience integrating on‑prem and SaaS products.Ability to travel up to 50%.Travel flexibility as required.Highly Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Okta Expertise, certifications, and deep knowledge.Understanding of software security and cryptography.Experience with API gateways, CASB, reverse proxies (NGINX).Knowledge of virtualization / cloud technologies (VMware, vSphere, EC2, OpenStack).Proficiency in additional languages (Python, Ruby, Perl).Git, Subversion experience.Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, IT, or related field.Okta Certified Technical Architect or a combination of Okta Certified Consultant and Okta Certified Developer (TOGAF / CISSP are a plus).Compensation & Benefits
