Lab Manager

MaxLinear is seeking a Lab Manager to join our team. In this role, you will focus on the following :

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of engineering lab facilities, manage lab equipment, and maintain relationships with PCB / PCBA vendors
• Ensure lab readiness for product development and testing, particularly for systems supporting Data Center infrastructure and Generative Artificial Intelligence workloads
• Coordinate procurement and calibration of equipment and supporting engineering teams with lab resources
• Manage and maintain lab equipment inventory, calibration schedules, and operational readiness for high-performance computing and AI validation
• Coordinate procurement, installation, and maintenance of lab instruments and test platforms
• Develop and maintain relationships with PCB / PCBA vendors, ensuring timely delivery and quality of prototypes and production boards
• Support engineering teams in board bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting activities for data center and AI hardware
• Implement lab safety protocols and ensure compliance with company standards
• Oversee lab documentation, asset tracking, and budget management

Proven experience managing engineering lab facilities and equipment

Familiarity with PCB / PCBA fabrication processes and vendor management

Experience supporting hardware development, board bring-up, and testing

Strong organizational and communication skills

Knowledge of lab safety and compliance requirements

BS in Electrical Engineering or related + 9 years of experience, or MS + 7 years of experience, or Ph.D. + 4 years of experience

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of : $135,616 to $210,615 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
