A Brief Overview : As an Interventional Radiology Technologist, you will perform specialized procedures using sterile techniques and advanced equipment while providing exceptional patient care.
What You Will Do :
- Schedule procedures and prepare patients appropriately, ensuring proper positioning and instructions.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, scrub techs, and other team members throughout the exam process.
- Generate high-quality images via digital imaging or hard film for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain, order, and assess products necessary for procedures.
- Exhibit high-level patient care skills to assist nursing staff with critically ill patients.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining records as required by the Radiology Department and other regulatory bodies.
- Monitor hemodynamics throughout procedures.
- Understand human vasculature, anticipating physician needs for supplies, equipment, and medications while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Interpret complex clinical subjects relevant to the specialty.
- Demonstrate analytical skills to formulate appropriate action plans and critical thinking abilities.
Essential Qualifications : The individual must be able to work the specified hours and perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Visual acuity, effective communication skills, and the ability to hear and understand speech and sounds are required.
Required Education, License / Certification, or Work Experience :
Associate's transcript from a Radiology Technology program at a college, technical school, or a hospital-based program.Certification in Cardiac Interventional Radiography (RI), Radiography (R), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) within 60 days of hire.Expectations and Standards :
