Patient Accounts Specialist

A company is looking for a Patient Accounts Specialist I - Physicians' Billing.

Key Responsibilities

Perform accounts receivable follow-up and collection procedures to secure timely reimbursements from third-party carriers

Maintain communication with third-party carriers and report billing / reimbursement changes to management

Assist in evaluating accounts receivable and contribute to the development of strategies to reduce outstanding balances

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred

Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing operations and collections

Proficiency with automated billing systems, with GE IDX and ETM experience preferred

Knowledge of ICD9 / 10 and CPT4 coding related to third-party carrier reimbursement

Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations regarding collection activities
