Security Officer - Unarmed Mall Site

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Mall Site in Charlotte, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls and more.

As a Patrol Officer with Allied Universal in a retail environment, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers and staff. You will monitor and patrol designated areas, staying visible to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment. You will interact with the public regularly, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication while responding to situations as needed. This is a driving post, where you will be responsible for patrolling the location using a vehicle as part of your daily duties. Pay Rate : $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule :

Day Time Wed 11 : 00 AM - 05 : 00 PM Sun 11 : 00 AM - 05 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report any unusual findings.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related concerns within the retail environment.
  • Work collaboratively with retail staff and / or law enforcement when needed to address security-related incidents.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any security-related events encountered during patrols.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid drivers license is required for driving positions and must meet Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements; this is primarily a driving post.
  • A Guard Card or security-related license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
