Who We’re Looking For

We have immediate opportunities for Coating Technicians. This position is primarily responsible for cleaning and inspecting optical elements and the application of proper coating on the optical element.

The Coating Technician will operate and maintain vacuum coating chamber.

Job Functions / Requirements : Coating Technician

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

• Examine optical element before and after deposition process
• Wash optical elements following automated and manual cleaning procedures
• Responsible for operation and maintenance of ultrasonic cleaning system
• Load optical elements in appropriate tooling and fixtures for the coating process
• Set-up coating chamber, this could include various coating processes including E-beam, IAD, resistance and DLC.
• Operate and maintain vacuum coating chamber to a production schedule for single and multilayer thin film coatings
• Monitor coating recipe with minimal supervision
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of coating machines. This may include cleaning, assembly, disassembly, and bead blasting.
• Maintain detailed and accurate process records
• Perform metrology of optics such as Spectrometry, and Absorption
• Follow manufacturing procedures and inspection requirements
• Read and understand mechanical drawings
• Promotes and maintains good housekeeping and safety practices
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

• Candidate will operate and maintain vacuum coating chamber. Responsible for operating ultrasonic cleaning.

• Ability to read blueprints and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Previous Experience / Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
• One year certificate from college or technical school.
