The University Housing Department is seeking (1) Custodial Foreperson to join the already awesome team taking the Department to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
This position will supervise a group of custodial workers in cleaning the University Housing Buildings. The position is responsible for custodial work 24 hours, a day 7 days a week. This position is also responsible for training, performance evaluations, purchasing custodial equipment, supplies, and will supervise all summer temporary employees.Supervise all custodial work on three shifts 7 days a week. This position will be responsible for supervising some small maintenance tasks such as unclogging tubs, sinks, installing toilet tissue dispensers, unclogging trash shuts, monitor the flow of trash to dumpsters, and move dumpsters as needed. This position will supervise and train the Custodian II, Custodian III, and Temporary employees.Review job requests and determines work priorities. Assign work, determine appropriate workloads while maintaining predetermined cleaning standards.Establishes standards for safety and performances needed to ensure that the cleanliness of campus structures and fixtures are maintained. Monitor employees to ensure they are working in compliance with university safety standards.Take emergency calls 24 / 7 and respond to the emergency in the appropriate method. This may include coming to the worksite or / and calling the appropriate personnel to help in handling the emergency.Trains employees in safe and efficient work practices, methods, tools, and equipment usage.Close work orders after completion of work. Responsible for maintaining accurate and current information in the work order systemPerform other professional duties assigned. Attends and participates in regular unit and departmental meetings. Participate in departmental committees, interview processes, and training.Qualifications
Minimum Hiring Qualifications :
A technical diploma and 5 years of work experience or an combination of education and experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications :
Knowledge of tools, techniques, and terminologies used in the operation of building maintenance.Knowledge of building and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) codes.Knowledge of health and safety measures associated with custodial work.Ability to plan work.A combination of work experience, including training and education, may be substituted for degree
