Job Description Summary
The Quality and EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Engineer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment while also maintaining high product and service quality standards. Primary responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, developing and managing EHS programs, and conducting risk assessments. In addition, the Engineer contributes to quality by monitoring product quality and processes, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management Support : Assist in the establishment and maintenance of quality standards, procedures, and processes. Maintain ISO documentation and support the certification processes. Assist other departments, as applicable, in achieving other industry certifications (e.g., ISO 17025)
- Environmental Management : Contribute to the development and management of environmental programs to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Health and Safety : Implement and maintain safety programs to ensure a safe workplace, including training, risk assessments, and incident investigation. Conduct rigorous safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with all applicable QMS and EHS regulations and legislation, including reporting and record-keeping.
- Training and Communication : Provide training to employees on quality and safety procedures, and communicate EHS information to management and interested parties.
- Continuous Improvement : Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and processes that ensure product and service compliance with external and internal standards. Monitor EHS performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance safety.
- Collaboration : Represent the company in professional dealings with customers and suppliers including resolving customer complaints and handling QMS and EHS enquiries from internal and external sources. Work with various departments and external stakeholders to integrate EHS practices and ensure compliance.
- Emergency Response : Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures.
Required Qualifications
ISO Auditor training and / or certification.Demonstrable results in QMS and EHS support.Education, Experience, and Knowledge
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering or a related field.3-5 years of experience in Quality and EHS engineering within a manufacturing industry, preferably in electronics.Strong leadership skills with the ability to earn respect, promote teamwork and collaboration, meet project deadlines, and lead by exampleExcellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to effectively interact with all levels of Executive, Senior, and Facility Management.Technical and regulatory experience in QMS and EHS requirements and knowledge of applicable industry standards.Knowledge of internal auditing methods, nonconformity investigation, root cause analysis, and risk and corrective action management.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 17025, and / or 14001 requirements is preferred.Prior internal auditing experience.Working Conditions
This position operates primarily in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to perform QMS and EHS audits throughout the entire facility. This includes wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and leading by example regarding this practice.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arm; climb stairs; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift supplies up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities are required by this position that include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Approximately 5-10% travel is expected to visit and / or audit suppliers, customers, and service sites.
