As a Tax Director at SIXT, you will play a critical role in leading the company’s tax strategy, compliance, and reporting across federal, state, and international jurisdictions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance and working closely with internal business groups, senior leadership, and external advisors, you will ensure compliance with ASC 740 and IFRS standards, oversee audits, and guide the organization in navigating complex tax matters. This role is ideal for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced, global environment and is passionate about developing talent while driving efficiency and compliance in all aspects of taxation.

YOUR ROLE AT SIXT

You prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740 and IFRS, including disclosures, foreign provisions, deferred taxes, and uncertain tax positions

You oversee and manage federal, state, and international tax audits, filings, and reconciliations, while identifying and mitigating tax risks across all jurisdictions

You collaborate with external consultants on transfer pricing analysis and documentation, and ensure indirect tax compliance including sales, use, property, and motor vehicle rental taxes

You conduct complex tax research and analysis, implementing findings and advising leadership, business units, and external stakeholders on compliance and strategy

You lead ad hoc analyses and special projects, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external advisors to support business operations and growth

You develop, mentor, and guide members of the North American tax team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth

YOUR SKILLS MATTER

Education & Experience – You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a CPA or Master’s in Taxation is strongly preferred. You bring 6+ years of progressive tax experience, including federal, state, and international income tax.

Technical Expertise – You have strong knowledge of ASC 740, IFRS, and corporate tax compliance, with experience in transfer pricing, indirect tax, and international taxation.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – You can evaluate complex tax issues, propose solutions, and communicate effectively with leadership and external advisors.

Leadership & Collaboration – You are an experienced leader who develops teams, fosters collaboration, and builds trusted relationships across departments and geographies.

Attention to Detail & Accuracy – You demonstrate strong organizational skills, ensuring precision in tax reporting, compliance, and financial disclosures.

Systems Knowledge – You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and have working knowledge of tax and accounting systems; experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
