Job descriptionServe as Deputy Inspector General for Internal Audit and oversee / direct the internal audit program. Reports to the DLA Inspector General, Vice Director, and Director. Ensure the audit process and organization conform to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (the Yellow Book) and the CIGIE Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines (the Blue Book). Provide oversight and conduct performance, operational and financial related audits, attestations, and reviews as requested or directed. Establish long-range business planning efforts, priorities, and schedules for the directorate, and be held accountable for achieving corporate goals in support of DLA. Recommend assignments, promotions and reassignments to subordinate positions. Review and approve disciplinary actions involving subordinates. Develop and implement policy, programs, procedures and systems related to the DLA Internal Audit process across DLA commands; and DLA-wide long range audit planning. Recruitment Incentives : Not Authorized Supervisory Probation : Required Completion of Supervisory Certification Program : Required Bargaining Unit Status : No This position requires DoD Financial Management Level 3 certification. Employees are allotted 2 years to achieve the certification per DoD Directive 5118.03 and 10 U.S.C. §1599d. Basic Requirement : A bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., business administration, finance, public administration) that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting (may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law). Applicants must submit college transcripts reflecting that an accounting or equivalent degree was conferred and the date conferred. Failure to submit transcripts may result in lost consideration. Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (up to 6 hours of business law). A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor. Completion of a degree that included substantial coursework in accounting or auditing and related requirements as detailed in the job posting. Managing multiple teams conducting audit, inspection, and evaluation projects that influence organizations, processes, systems, and operations across Agency sub-commands. Independently composing, presenting, and defending audit results in writing and verbally. Managing audit readiness end-to-end processes within a process management functional area. Assisting with long-range business planning efforts, priorities, and schedules for the organization. Integrating audit readiness and sustainment in all elements of the organization. Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Auditor (Performance), your resume and supporting documentation must support :

Education
A combination of education and experience (at least 4 years in accounting or an equivalent combination) with professional accounting knowledge. Applicants must submit transcripts. The background must also include one of the following :
Specialized Experience
One year of specialized experience directly related to the position. For the GS-15 level, specialized experience must be at the GS-14 level or equivalent. Creditable specialized experience includes :
Experience includes paid and unpaid work (including volunteer work). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
This position requires DoD Financial Management Level 3 certification. Once certified, ongoing professional education is required to maintain proficiency.
Education and Substitutions
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
