Job descriptionDisciplinary and positive actions Employee training Re-stocking & inventory of medical supplies & equipment Assist with creating Patrol shift schedules Work with management to create SOP's as needed Work in a team environment outdoors in all weather conditions Effectively communicate with other staff members and guests Assist in enforcing safety policies Demonstrate good leadership and be a positive role model Scene Management : Secure the scene of an accident to prevent further injury or complications, including controlling crowds and ensuring the area is safe for both victims and rescuers. Incident Assessment : Quickly assess the severity of accidents and determine the appropriate level of medical intervention required. Reporting : Document the details of incidents, including the nature of the injury, actions taken, and any other relevant information. Provide medical services according to the UOLF Safety Patrol Manual and National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care Protocols or as prescribed by management. Rule Enforcement : Enforce resort policies and safety rules, including speed limits, and skiing etiquette. Education : Educate guests on safe skiing practices, including how to properly use equipment and avoid common accidents. Medical Equipment : Maintain and inspect medical equipment, such as first aid kits, oxygen tanks, and defibrillators, ensuring they are in good working order. Patrol Equipment : Ensure that patrol equipment, such as snowmobiles or radios, is properly maintained and functional. Communication : Communicate effectively with Soldier Hollow staff. Interagency Coordination : Work with local emergency services, such as fire departments and ambulance services, for more complex or severe medical situations. Interact in a professional, responsible, and friendly manner with guest, athletes, coaches, and the public on a daily basis. Training : Regularly participate in training and drills to stay proficient in emergency medical procedures and rescue techniques. Emergency Plans : Follow and execute emergency response plans for various scenarios, including avalanches, severe weather, or mass casualty incidents. Guest Interaction : Interact with guests in a professional and compassionate manner, providing reassurance and assistance during emergencies. Feedback : Gather feedback from guests and staff to improve safety practices and emergency response procedures. Ability to operate both snowmobiles and ATV's. Ability to operate power tools and landscaping equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 45 Day Probation with a "Pass" or "Fail" Evaluation at Day 30-45. Current NSP OEC certification or current NREMT certification, or equivalent Current CPR for medical professional's certification Minimum 18 years of age Ability to work outdoors in all temperature / weather extremes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Hearing - to converse with others in a normal conversation. Balancing, bending, climbing, kneeling, walking, pushing, reaching above shoulders, and sitting. Ability to lift 70+ pounds.

About Soldier Hollow
Soldier Hollow Nordic Center is home to a state-of-the-art biathlon range that was used for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The facility also features a 31-kilometer trail system for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, as well as mountain biking and hiking in the summer. It is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in winter sports in Utah. As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic Legacy for years to come.
About the role
As a part of the SOHO Patrol team, you will be responsible for providing medical services for guests, athletes, and employees in a kind, caring and professional manner.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities
Winter Season Duties Include :
- Presence on Soldier Hollow Tubing Hill ensuring patrol coverage during all operating hours
- Oversee the Patrol team and coordinate with managers and supervisors including but not limited to :
Employee accountability
1. Accident Management and Scene Safety
2. Safety Enforcement and Education
3. Equipment Maintenance and Operation
4. Coordination with Other Services
5. Emergency Preparedness
6. Customer Service and Public Relations
