Summary :
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist responsible for all aspects of specimen collection, receiving, and referrals. Join our team to make a difference in patient care.
Responsibilities :

- Comply with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, infection control, safety standards, and privacy regulations regarding health information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of collection areas and restock supplies as required.
- Assist in procuring department supplies alongside the team lead.
- Conduct all phlebotomy duties, including specimen collection and preparation for external lab referrals.
- Perform various patient specimen collections—venipuncture, capillary collections, and cultures.
- Ensure all specimen collection requirements are met to maintain specimen integrity.
- Exhibit strong communication skills with patients, families, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
- Utilize the laboratory computer system for document management related to specimen information and patient registration.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed, including on-call duties, inventory management, and special projects.
- Complete performance evaluations and competency assessments in a timely manner.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Preferred : High School diploma or equivalent.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Completion of a Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy is preferred.Familiarity with medical terminology, data entry, and strong organizational skills.Experience
Preferred : One year of phlebotomy experience.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Preferred : Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).Preferred : Phlebotomy Tech (PBT) certification or State licensure (if applicable in Louisiana).In accordance with CHRISTUS Health policies, all associates must obtain required certifications within designated time frames.
